What should a nursing assistant do when executing the correct lifting technique? I: Balance on one foot. II: Avoid twisting and any odd positions. III: Lift with their legs, not their back. IV: Whenever possible, try to lift residents without asking for help as to not interrupt the work of other nursing assistants.
II and III
Both II and III ARE excellent points of emphasis when lifting residents. Asking for assistance whenever someone needs it will help both the nursing assistant and the resident avoid injury. Attempting to balance on one foot is never recommended.
